Awesome open day

A huge thank you to absolutely everyone including boaters, campers, visitors, trades folk, crafters, musicians and of course our totally amazing marina team for making yesterday’s first charity open day such a huge success.

The weather stayed fine throughout the day, (boy weren’t we lucky?) and we had a really good number of visitors through the gate coming to look around the marina and stroll along our “ trading street” located down the centre of the camping field. Our dedicated raffle ladies wasted no time in selling raffle tickets and managed to raise a wonderful £600.00 for the marina’s charity of the year Pink Rooster. Massive thanks as always to everyone who supplied prizes, there were some truly amazing experiences to win including two flying lessons. A full list of winners is available from the office.

The atmosphere was fabulous throughout the afternoon and was enhanced by the music in our garden thanks to the fabulous Whisky Flowers and Odds ‘n Sods.

There were lots of fun and games when the wet sponges came out and were hurled at anyone who dare poke their heads through the “stocks”. Thankfully we didn’t get any decent pictures!

All in all a fabulous event and something we will definitely build on for next year. As ever we will keep you posted.
