Splendid September

There is always something rather special about September even though it does sort of mark the end of the Summer holidays and all that family time people have hopefully enjoyed. What I particularly like is that many boaters are making a leisurely return to their moorings and marinas having spent the last four or so months travelling the length and breadth of our stunningly beautiful river and canal network.. Familiar faces calling in to make the most of our fabulous facilities and stock up for the remainder of their journieys whilst others are arriving for the very first time . Exciting times for all.

Talking of exciting times, the first piece of news we have (albeit rather at the eleventh hour) is that we have Nally’s Jamaican street food van making a special visit to the marina tomorrow night, which promises to be really delicious and tasty. We are leaving the marina gates open from 5pm to 8.30pm, to let everyone who is interested have an opportunity to enjoy a taste of the Caribbean at this first street food event.

BROKERAGE - Things on the brokerage front have certainly picked up. We now have three fabulous widebeam boats looking for new owners as well as a 56’ narrowboat.

Information for the fabulous 56’ NB Silver Moon, the beautiful 60’ x 11’ widebeam Badgers Rest and 55’ x 10’ widebeam Lily Pearl can be found at Nationwide Boat Sales whilst for 65’ x 12’ widebeam Malbuck click here alternatively, please call the office on 01604 812057 and George will be delighted to tell you more.

Finally making September ultra special is our annual Macmillan Coffee Morning on Friday 27th September 10am - 3pm.. Once again we have a number of stall holders coming along to help us raise more cash than ever for this terrifically worthwhile cause. And no fund raiser would be complete without a raffle, this will also be bigger and better than previous years. So if you are around the week before please make sure you buy some tickets #everylittlehelps. With lots of homemade cakes and bakes combined with lots of fun and laughter at a fabulous fundraiser, there could not be a better way to end a Splendid September.

Remember the door is always open at the marina - if you ever have any boating enquiries then please do pop in and meet George and her developing team, they would be pleased to see you, they even have a great stash of biscuits for your doggies too.

P.S. It is with real sadness that our Woofs at White Mills which had been planned for 21st September has been cancelled. We are hoping to rearrange the event sometime in the not too distant future.
